School Day
Try to make sure there is a good start for your child by ensuring that they have everything they need before they leave home – PE kit, musical instrument, lunch box, homework etc.
Pupils can enter the school site via the main gate,
We have a soft start at our school so that children can come into school from 8:40 and have time to get themselves ready for the day before the register is taken and the school day starts.
We have found that the soft start in the morning helps parents and pupils. It enables parents to “drop and go” in the knowledge that their children are safe in school and enables the children to have time to prepare themselves ready for learning.
School is open: 8.40am
School starts: 8.50am
Morning Break: 10.30 – 10.45am (this is staggered across year groups)
Lunch: 12.00 – 1.00pm
Worship : 2:55pm – 3:15pm (Monday - Thursday)
2:45pm – 3:15pm (Celebration Worship on Friday)
School ends: 3.20pm
Children spend 32.5 hours a week in our school.
At the end of a normal school day, pupils leave the main school building via the relevant exits:
Reception : leave from the foyer by EYFS
All other classes leave via their external classroom doors
To ensure the safety of the children, pupils are not allowed to play on the playground, adventure playground, quiet area or field after school unless involved in an organised school activity.
At the end of the school day pupils are handed over to the adult who we know is collecting them, or dismissed to walk home if this arrangement is in place. If children are late being collected they are taken to the school office. We will always take care of our pupils but please make sure your child knows what the arrangements are for picking up at home time before you leave them each morning as this can cause distress for the children.
Thank you.
