REMOTE LEARNING
The DFE has stipulated that we have a duty to offer remote education : ‘Where a pupil, class, group or small number of pupils need to self-isolate, or there is a local lockdown requiring pupils to remain at home, DfE expects schools to be able to immediately offer them access to remote education’. We wanted to share our provision with you in case of the scenarios outlined above.
Our remote education offer has built upon the provision we provided from March alongside parental voice which we ascertained from a parental survey.
The Parent voice showed that:
- 96% of parents would like to receive home learning through Class Dojo.
- 94% of parents would like to be able to access Teams.
We have listened to this and have set up Microsoft Teams, through a DFE scheme, to enable us to facilitate interaction between your child and their class teacher in the case of National closures or the closure of a bubble.
We know that if a child needs to get a Covid check they may be experiencing symptoms that would mean they weren’t well enough to access remote learning, in this instance we would ask that you use your parental judgement as to whether your child can complete their work.
We are equally aware that if someone in your house hold is unwell and you must self-isolate as a household, your child may be well enough to access our remote learning offer. If your child does require work, please inform the office when you report their absence.
The links below stipulate our remote learning offer, the policy that sits behind our remote learning, a Class Dojo Policy and an overview as to how to access Portfolios on Class Dojo.
