Accessing Support For Your Child
At Mitcheldean Endowed Primary School, we value the partnership we have with you and recognise that effective communication is essential in ensuring our children can thrive.
We have two pathways through which you can access support for your child.
To Request Information About Your Child For Another Professional
If you require the school to complete any documentation for your child, such as a referral form for the GP or pediatrician, or a DLA form, please complete this form:
Your request will be acknowledged by the relevant member of staff within 2 working school days via Class Dojo. They will work to gather the information you’ve requested and get it back to you within 15 working school days. If staff are unable to do this, for example if they need information from other professionals, they will communicate this with you.
To Request Pastoral Support For Your Child
If you think your child has a need for pastoral support, please complete this form.
Please note that this process is for when a child needs support over a period of time, for example if they are anxious about leaving parents and carers, worried about change, managing loss or simply finding things tricky and it’s becoming a reoccurring focus.
We urge parents and carers to continue to communicate with class teachers to ensure they know the little things that might impact your child when they come into school.
The pastoral team will be in touch within two working school days to acknowledge your request and finalise a time for a conversation to take place so that they can fully comprehend your child’s needs. They will then keep you updated as to when a sequence of support sessions will be scheduled. Please be assured that if your child requires support, this will always be available, although more structured support may require a waiting period.
