PSHE INTENT

As citizens, we explore how to keep a healthy mind and body, be a good friend and be the best version of ourselves.

At Mitcheldean Primary School, we want to make sure that our children are able to grow up to become happy and well-rounded individuals who know how to deal with the challenges of the modern world. Part of this is making sure they are informed about how to keep themselves safe and healthy and have good relationships with others. Good physical and mental health is also at the heart of ensuring our young people are ready for the adult world.

We encourage all our pupils to play a positive role in contributing to school life and the wider community through school councils, Enterprise, fundraising events, supporting  charities and involvement in community activities.

We offer a wide range of lunchtime and after school clubs which extends their creative or physical well-being. We encourage children to take part in a club that interests them and extends their experiences. We also promote the Daily Mile and Wake and Shake to develop a healthy life-style.

The Pink Curriculum developed by Gloucestershire Healthy Living and Learning team is used  to support the development of the necessary skills and knowledge that our children need to lead a happy, safe, healthy life.
