Music
As musicians, we sing and perform different genres of music from around the world.
MUSIC INTENT
At Mitcheldean Primary School we believe that music and singing has an important role within the curriculum promoting positive well-being, enjoyment , self confidence and a sense of community. We are a singing school and sing every day which we feel is spiritually uplifting for everyone.
Music is well-established in our school and we follow our EPIC music vision - Enjoy, Perform and Participate, Inspire and be Inspired, Create and Compose.
We aim to provide a range of musical opportunities which children Enjoy so they are motivated and engaged. We want children to develop a range of musical skills - singing and playing different tuned and unturned instruments, building their self-confidence and self-esteem to Perform and participate. We want our children to Inspire others when they perform, and be Inspired by others when they demonstrate their musical skills so they are developing a love of music by listening and appreciating different types of music and be inspired to learn an instrument themselves. Through exposure to a range of musicians and music from across the world we hope to inspire children about the multicultural world we live, a key driver within our context. We encourage our children to Create and compose within music to illustrate that there are no limits to what they can achieve.
